I wrote a story smiliar to this. Its just from a child's view watching his mother jump off from a cliff very similiar to that one

I think this shows the power the mind has to lock someone inside themselves. This lock feeds off of despair, fear, shame, sorrow, whatever torment it might be, to the point where the person no longer sees the larger than life beautiful world outside of themselves, only what's going on inside their little box of a mind, and that can sometimes appear to be unbearable.
